I’m usually a one project at a time kind of maker, but once in awhile I’ll get distracted with something new and relegate the old project to my WIP pile. This quilted vest may have been my longest-standing WIP – I cut it out in 2021, and finished it in April of 2023.

I used block print cotton from Itokri for both fabric layers on this piece, sandwiched with quilt batting, and bound it with quilting cotton binding. For the quilting lines, I followed the curved dark green lines on the print.
For the pattern, I modified the front bodice pieces of the Anna Allen Anthea Blouse – I took out about an inch from the center fronts and curved all the corners. I decided to use bias tape to make two center front ties, and I love the double-bow look!
I’m not sure why I sat so long on this work in progress, but I do love the finished look. This project inspired me to work through the rest of my WIP pile, and I was able to get quite a few more projects finished. Cheers to that!
